If your character's profile is in this board, that means that it was rejected. Your character does not have the okay to enter the role play. This is important to realize because if you start role playing with this character, you'll know exactly why all their posts are vanishing.
There are several reasons your profile may have been denied. No matter what, the reason (or even reasons) will fall into two categories: Character Dilemma or Application Dilemma.
But do not fear! Just because your character has been given a no-go, that doesn't mean he/she/it needs to be taken out back and shot. Choose life!
When a profile is denied, it is moved here and a post will be made on it that lists the reason(s) why it was denied. You have a week (seven days for you slow ones out there) to fix the problem. But of course, it may help to know how to fix a problem. So here's a little guide that list the most common reasons your (amazing) staff might deny a profile and how to fix it.
Character Dilemmas
Character dilemmas are those issues revolving around the character itself.
Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu
The first thing that'll land a character's profile in this board is a Sue or Stu. these are your oh-so-perfect characters. They are loved by all and have no flaws. They are the best, the greatest, the most respected, the most feared, the most beautiful, the most handsome, blah, blah, blah. This is a huge no-no.
If your profile is denied on the count of Sueness or Stuness, you've got a lot of work to do. Give your character flaws, take away some of their horribly perfect traits and make them a little more believable.
If your profile is denied on this count, the specific trait that landed them in here will be posted so you'll know exactly what to fix.
Anti-Sues/Stus
Just as the title implies, these are the characters that are the opposites of Stus and Sues. They are horrible at everything and are nothing but flaws. Anti-Sues/Stus are created so that people will worship the role player for opposing Sues and Stus. You need a good balance.
To fix this, give your character some actual traits. It's simple.
Despies
The oh-woe-is-me characters. Their life has been horrible, their family killed, pokemon captured, all that horrible stuff. These characters have ridiculously tragic lives and aim for attention.
Fix up their past. Take away some horrible traits and replace them with good things. You don;t have to take away all bad things and make every little aspect of them flowery and full of rainbows. Bad things happen, but not in extreme amounts. At least not here.
Attention Grabbers
The main group the past three no-nos belong to. These characters do nothing but try to make the role play all about them. They throw themselves into situations that require other characters to save them and other things of the like.
These things will probably not be found in profiles. However, if a staff member believes by looking at a profile that that character will do nothing but grab attention, then he or she will deny it. If a staff member sees someone grabbing attention, then he or she will warn the role player. If attention grabbing persists, the character's profile will be removed from the Accepted board and placed in here. fix this. The fault is usually not with the character, but with the role player.
Ridiculous Traits
This is pokemon. We accept weird things in the world of animals with the crazy anatomy that allows them to shoot electricity from their cheeks (not always their face) or move objects with their hands. However, somethings are just too much. A pikachu with angel wings, a trainer from Harry Potter, a headcrab zombie (sorry Ligh), and characters with whacked up traits will be shot down and drug to this board.
These are easy to fix. The trait will be posted so you know exactly what to fix, and all you have to do is remove it or change it to something less... nauseating.
Application Dilemmas
Application dilemmas are those that revolve around the form you filled out.
Incomplete Form
Obviously, if the application is not fully filled out, it won't be accepted. It will be moved here.
All you have to do is finish it. simple as that.
Application on Drugs
If you took the application and decided to omit things and add your own, or just ignore the application all together and make up something else, you're wrong. Use the form that is given.
To fix this, just take the full and proper form and translate everything from your denied profile to that and fill in what you don't have.
Lack of Description
The application is there to let other role players, staff, and yourself know about your character. If you decide to fill in the clothing section with "clothes" or any physical section with "Look at the picture", your profile will be rejected. Nobody's personality is just, "nice, brave, friendly". Details, people.
Go back and add some description to the application. It won;t be accepted until the staff believes it has enough stuff in it to be acceptable.
Missing Sprites
Profiles MUST have the proper sprites. Every profile must have the backpack sprite at the bottom and, depending on the character's occupation, they may need the badge case sprite or the ribbon case sprite.
These sprites can be found in the "READ. THIS. STUFF" board under "Starting."
Examples of Application Dilemmas can be found HERE.
Member Dilemmas
Okay, so I realize this is added on, but it's still important.
Member Dilemmas are issues revolving around the member, rather than the character or profile. A member dilemma occurs after the profile has been denied.
Arguing
Don't do it. If we deny a profile because of something, the issue is not up for debate. If a character is denied for being a Mary-Sue, going on and on about how we're wrong and she's not a Sue and we don;t know what we're talking about is wrong. Do not do it.
Questions
We try to be as specific as possible about what you need to fix. However, if something is not right, feel free to ask. BUT don't ask a never ending lost of questions especially if you ask the same things twice.
Just fix it and move on.
Example of a member dilemma? Sure. Go HERE
Note that this is a legitimate profile submitted to us. Also note that the member deleted her own account.
I've fixed my profile. Now what?
The first thing to do is to look at the reason your profile was denied and then make sure you have actually fixed the problem. The staff will not be pleased if they find a revised profile that is nothing more than it once was.
Next, grab the staff's attention. Do not send us PMs. Instead, post on the profile's thread that you have fixed it, and a staff member will look over your revised profile.
Lastly, wait. If you have posted on the thread, wait for the staff to come. Do not keep posting over and over again.
Hopefully, your profile will be relocated to the Accepted board. No comment will be made when this is done. The thread will simply move (magically) and all posts except for the actual profile will be deleted- er... vanish. (magically).
Note: A denied profile has seven days to be revised. After that week, the profile will be deleted and not come back. No amount of begging can bring it back. The staff couldn't bring it back if they wanted. Once it's gone: It. Is. Gone.
