"Jeeves."
"Yes, Master Bates?"
The twenty-something year old looked down upon the boy from his book calmly as the two walked, expecting an answer. Geoffrey glanced away to the bright red poke ball attached to the belt of his fanny pack before looking back up at his butler impatiently.
"Where are the wild Pokemon? I wish to see what this Growlithe can do all ready." He huffed, Jeeves turning back to his book and flipping the page nonchalantly. "Have patience, and they'll come. I doubt they'll come out with you whining like that..."

Black, beady eyes watched on from a bush. It saw two humans. Humans? In her home? Hell no! After rustling around for a bit, she finally found the exit of the bush and hopped out. Flying right into the path of the two intruders, she stared them down. The little bluish pokemon was far from intimidating to most people, but hey, points for trying. Oh shit! Wild Nidoran (female) appeared!

As the Pokemon jumped out in front of them, Jeeves blinked, scratching his chin. "Interesting. Female Nidoran usually have red eyes... Master Bates, are you sure you're up to this? You've never been in a Pokemon battle before."
"I saw it on TV, Jeeves. It can't be too hard, now can it?" He asked, before releasing his new Pokemon from captivity. "Go, Shira! Bite it!"
The Growlithe, having just appeared, sat down and looked back at her trainer quizzically, wagging it's tail. What did this boy mean? "Bite" it? That would be rude!... Besides, fighting was only to be done in self-defense, wasn't it?
Bates groaned. "Why isn't it listening? I said Bite!"
Jeeves just snickered. Ah, memories...

The Nidoran glared at the Pokemon who had just been released from its imprisonment. How could humans be so cruel as to keep Pokemon in those tiny devices? And now that it was free, why wasn't that Growlithe running? Then it hit the poison type: it didn't want to run. "How can you give up your freedom to serve this human?!" she screeched, glaring it down. "For that, you must be punished!" The Nidoran took a couple of steps back before charging forward to attack. Everything went well until one of her paws was caught on a rather large pebble lying on the road, and she tripped and fell. The female wasted no time springing back up and shaking herself off before charging again, raising a paw to Scratch the Pokemon.

"Understand that it's intending to hurt you! Defend yourself!" Bates whined, Shira listening this time and trying to shift herself out of the way.
Unfortunately, she was caught in the flank, which caused a whine to escape from her throat. Pushing herself forward and gritting her teeth, she stared down the Nidoran for a moment, trying to ignore the pain. I was born in 'capitivitie', or somfin'. Me donno much yet... The Growlithe barked back, staring at the cut in her side. Launching forward, she charged at the Nidoran, fangs bared, intending to Bite down on the critter.
But yousa meanier compared to this human!

Nidoran stood up triumphantly after her hit landed, her chest puffing out in pride. She stood there like that for a couple of seconds until she heard the canine speaking again, surprised at its speech. Why, it seemed that this Pokemon wasn't that smart at all. She glared up at the human again, obviously blaming him for his Pokemon's stupidity, then realized that she was being attacked, though a little too late. The Growlithe slammed into her side, knocking her over as its teeth sunk into her flesh, causing it to cry out in pain. It felt a few of its pins sink into the canine a bit, and the poison to flow through them. The female flailed a paw in the canine's direction, hoping to do more damage with Scratch.
Onoez! Nidoran's Poison Point has poisoned Shira!

"Oh... Shit..." Bates twitched, rubbing his brow as he saw his Growlithe just barely avoid being hit... by toddling over to the side, rolling over, and twitching slightly in pain, moaning. Obviously, the young Pokemon had never been poisoned before. "Wh-what happened?" He asked, staring at his butler, expecting answers.
Jeeves groaned. "She's been poisoned, Master Bates. Here." He stated, handing the boy a bottle of a strange liquid. "It's an Antidote. Recall Shira and apply it to the wounds." He stated firmly, snatching a Pokeball from his pocket. "Now watch me. I'll teach you how to battle properly.
Having no objections at the time, Bates hastily ran over to retrieve his Growlithe carefully, while his butler released his own hound dog. The Houndoom, once released, stared intently at the Nidoran without a word. Glancing behind her, she decided she knew the situation (and found it rather silly- all this fuss over a Nidoran?) and quietly awaited her master's command.
"Bea, be so kind to deal with this, would you? Flamethrower."
Taking in a small breath, the Pokemon shot out a great torrent of flames, aimed directly at the small female Nidoran. Bates looked up from tending to his Growlithe to a moment to watch, somewhat surprised. He didn't know that Jeeves had a fire dog already... He should have gotten the Pichu. Damn. Too late now.

"And there you have it. If it looks like it has spikes, try to refrain from using physical attacks. Instead, attack with a bit of distance. I suppose you don't have much choice now, but you'll learn." Jeeves stated calmly, Bea trotting over to her trainer's side, where she expected a neck rub for her "efforts". "You may throw a Pokeball if you wish to keep a souvenir from this."
"Don't tell me what to do." Bates grumbled, having finished tending to the Growlithe. Picking a Pokeball out of his bag, he tossed it in the Nidoran's general direction.

The Nidoran didn't try to avoid the Poke Ball, or even flinch for that matter when it hit her. She just laid there, the shocked expression still on her face. A red light swirled around her, until she too turned that color and was sucked into the red and white ball, which landed on the ground. It shook once...twice...three times...then... Nothing. The ball just sat there on the ground, the flashing red light that was in the middle of it, where the button was, just turned back to white again, signaling that the Pokemon had been successfully captured.
Congrats! Nidoran is now yours to keep! You may give her a nickname if you want, and from this point onwards, you are allowed to control this character. Level: 5 Moves: Scratch Growl

"Well, it got floored, so I'll call it Marble." Geoffrey declared, heading over to reclaim the Pokeball, Shira wagging her tail in tow. Smirking, he turned and lightly petted the dog on the head.
"Wild Pokemon will be intent on causing you damage, so, you need to listen to me, okay? I'll make sure we win and get better. Do you understand?" He asked, the Growlithe appearing puzzled, as if registering (or trying to understand) this information, before nodding.
Geof smirked. "Good girl."
"If the Kodac moment is over, can we be on our way? I'd hope to reach the next town before nightfall." Jeeves stated, not particularly wanting to go camping again as he did as a child. The rich boy simply ignored his butler for a few minutes before standing and beginning walking again, the young Growlithe on the lookout in case of an ambush.

A flash of purple darted from one tree to the next, flying across with pretty incredible speed. The trees on this route were spaced out a bit, so it did make it somewhat difficult for Pokemon like Mankey to swing from tree to tree, but this little one didn't seem to have a problem. It shot from one tree to the next, and only managed to stop itself by grabbing a branch and flipping itself onto it before rocketing off once more. Needless to say, this Pokemon was bubbling with energy. Suddenly, something caught its wide black eyes, causing it to stop suddenly by grabbing onto a branch. It hung down from there, upside-down from its tail, and stared at what had caused it to stop: two humans and two Pokemon. The monkey Pokemon gave a squeal of laughter and swung down, landing on the taller one's head, ruffling his hair with what appeared to be a hand at the end of its tail before jumping on the ground and using its tail again to start kicking up sand into their faces. The male Pokemon jumped up and down, squealing in laughter before sending more sand flying their way.
Wild Aipom appeared!

"....$@#&......" Needless to say, as he shielded himself from the sand barrage with his arm, the elder man seemed none too pleased whatsoever. Nor did Bea- The two looked ready to kill at the moment.
Bates seemed to be smiling to himself, surprisingly. Because little Shira had been on the lookout, and managed to get out of the way of the sand before the troublesome Aipom began whipping it at them.
Currently, she had positioned herself behind the Aipom, ready. "Bite!" Geof barked, getting a mouthful of sand in the process, though it was enough. Charging forward, the Growlithe bared it's fangs and attempted to chop the spudmonkey as his trainer sputtered.

Aipom was rolling on the ground, laughing at the reactions of his victims, when he noticed that one managed to escape his Sand Attack. He hopped back onto his feet and jumped into the air, pushing off the Growlithe's head with his tail when she came close enough. Upon landing, the monkey began jumping around, pointing and laughing at the canine before charging at it, tail poised and ready. It sprang into the air again to amplify the power of its attack, and started falling towards the puppy Pokemon, tail ready to Scratch.

"Try again, Shira!" Bates commanded, coughing a bit. Glancing over to his butler and his Houndoom, he backed off slightly. He sensed impending doom, and there was nothing he could say about it.
Noticing the monkey was coming down from the sky, Shira opened her mouth in hopes of catching the monkey by the tail as it came down.
(( xD -fails-))
