The small, thin girl looked at the building in front of her, violet eyes widening to the size of plates, taking up nearly half of her face. Her mouth opened into a small "o". This was it. This was the pokemon laboratory. She grinned in excitement, pulling her black bag with its tiny bow on the front tighter to her side. "Finally!" she whispered, stepping towards the door, opening it, and stepping inside. "Hello?" she called out, her voice sounding small in the enormity of the lab. She stood out in here, her purple dress and black frills against the sleek whiteness of the lab. Shivering uncomfortably, she shuffled her feet and wrung her hands. Where was the professor? "Hello?" she called out again, hoping she hadn't arrived while he was out to lunch or something of the sort.

From a dark corner of the lab, a green beast slithered. The viney thing slunked it's way around until it reached the girl at the door. The Carnivine gave a creepy, sadistic grin as he stared her in the eye. It slowly began to wrap a vine around her. Suddenly and randomly, the freakish plant plopped to the ground, revealing a young-looking man in a white lab coat glaring at the girl with light blue eyes, which perfectly matched his messy hair. Resting atop his head was a pair of strange goggles. He wore a white dress shirt under his unbuttoned lab coat and blue jeans below. "Hello." He said, staring at the girl, much like the Carnivine -- who had slithered back into his corner by now -- sans the grin. Walking around the girl, the man closed the door to the lab. "I suppose you're here for a pokemon." He said as the sound of the door closing echoed through the empty lab. The professor walked back around the girl and in front of her, but didn't stop, and instead kept walking away from her and towards a desk, not looking back.

The girl blinked once, not startled at all by the caravine. She'd dreamt so many times of death, or things close to it, she couldn't even tell what was real anymore. Staring at the carnavine on the floor, she exhaled quietly, and looked up at this strange professor. "Yes." came her reply.

Errands, though he thought them to be a frivolous waste of time, were more than just necessary. Especially after your assistants were all out doing research, and you happened to be the only body left to get anything done. Normally Professor Kleiner didn't go out himself. He liked to remain in the comfort and relative safety of his lab. "Relative" because of Lamarr, his Gligar, who enjoyed leaping upon peoples' heads. He'd brought the Gligar to keep him company though on his trip to the mart. She remained outside of her PokeBall except when they were inside... the professor didn't want anyone to get... well... "head-humped".
Now he walked back to his lab at a leisurely pace. He was certain he had enough time to get there before his next arrival came looking for her Pokemon. Though his certainty vanished when he came to the last stretch of the road leading up to the gleaming white building, and saw the door he thought was locked was just shutting. Kleiner knew it wasn't an illusion caused by the temperature; the barometre showed it was only a pleasant twenty-degrees celsius. So he ambled faster to reach the lab.
There, at the entrance, he attempted to open one of the double doors right away, rather than unlock it first. It swung open. Through thick-rimmed glasses, the balding professor peered into the gloom. Out in front, with her back facing him, Kleiner saw a girl. And beyond that, a crazy looking man with spiky blue hair, goggles, and a worn out lab coat.
"Now see here! What is the meaning of all this?" Kleiner demanded sharply.
The man jumped a little, but hid his shock well. Then he grinned like a mad-man.
"Oops... I wasn't expecting this to happen."
Casually, he retreated the snaky Carnivine slithering around his ankles back into its PokeBall.
"Who are you?" the professor walked further into the lab, ignoring the girl for now, intent on discovering who the lunatic was.
"Well, it's been fun!" the loon grinned wider now, and stepped back behind Kleiner's desk.
"But I think it's about time I bid you both adieu."
He bowed, and then stepped further back until he reached the wall. Kleiner walked toward him, looking irritated. The elderly professor had only reached the desk when the mad-man thrust open the window nearby him, and hurled himself out.
"I regret nothing!" he yelled, before vanishing outside.
A dumbstruck Kleiner could only stare. Certainly the window wasn't high up off of the ground or anything. But any man who purposely hurled himself through one, regardless of his own safety, had to be some sort of nut. There was an awkward silence for a few moments. Then Kleiner sighed, and rubbed his brow.
"My, my," he said, "I suppose I should call the police about this... to think someone would break into my laboratory... things just aren't safe anymore."
He turned back to the girl. His look was impartial.
"You... I suppose you're here for your Pokemon, then?"
The professor managed a weak smile.
(( Sorry for the massive delay. I'll try not to let it happen again. D: ))
-Jake- Permission to powerplay my character was given.

((Ligh! Yay!))
April blinked a few times in confusion, her long black eyelashes batting against her pale skin. What had just happened, again. She heard the professor speak to her, something about her first pokemon...? Oh yes. Why she was here in the first place. She looked at him, nodding, glad the blue-haired guy and his somewhat creepy carnavine weren't there anymore.
"Yes." she answered, smiling at him sweetly, in her scary little way.

Stepping into the Village, Scarlet took in a deep breath nearly forgetting why she was there. "Such a comfy little town! Now where to look fir-" She was cut off by the blue haired man escaping the lab from a window. "What!" She ran towards the building but kept out of sight to get a closer look. But by now the man was gone and she sighed deeply and looked up at the building. "The Lab hm?... I guess I should ask here... If he started collecting badges in this region he would have started here..." She opened the door, she walked into the building. "Is everything okay in here?" She slipped and fell in front of the girl who was already in the room. With her face against the cold floor she felt her face light up. "... greeeat..."

April stared at the girl who had just entered, her big dark eyes flashing with curiosity. Then she turned back to the professor. "May I please have my pokemon?" she asked, giving him a small smile. She really had wanted one for a while... and couldn't believe she was finally going to get one!

Scarlet got up and brushed herself off, mumbling to herself. "Don't worry. I'm fine.." She looked around the lab then at the girl who was talking to the man wearing a lab jacket. Scarlet stepped forward with a huff. "I'm guessing this is where people start their Pokemon Journey in this region. Then I have a few questions for the owner of this place..." She looked at the girl with a frown. "Was anyone hurt by that strange man who was just fleeing from here?" She turned to the man, remembering there being a case where a thief stole a Pokemon from a lab in Johto. The girl and man seemed unharmed from what she could tell but she figured she would ask anyway. So far, the people of this region seemed... distant? Which concerned her. Just what was this ominous feeling that the region held?
