Lights come up on Arena 5, a slick, clean Arena surrounded by cheering and screaming spectators. There's not an empty seat in the house. They wave signs and giant foam fingers in the air to show their excitement. Two doors open on the East and West sides of the Arena. The door on the East opens to allow Sasha to step into her position on the stage and the door on the West does the same for Reyna. And the doors open and the cheers incredibly intensify, the field official dressed in classic black and white step into his own position on the field and holds up two flags, one blue and one red. As the flags swish through the air, the crowd miraculously grows silent. After the hush has fallen over the spectators, a rich, baritone voice echos through the Arena. "Would the two participants please take their place on the Arena." The crowd goes wild.

It didn't take long for an attention whore to come barreling in from the wrong enterance. From the east, a large, bright orange blur zoomed through the open door, a sharp wind blowing as the shape performed a quick flip in mid air before swooping directly downwards to the correct side of the stage.
The blur, which revealed itself to be a Dragonite as it slowed, landed down on all fours with a blunt thud as her trainer (who was oddly dressed in clothes that would remind one of a Rayquaza?) hopped of her Pokemon's back and landed gracefully on her feet, the tails of the fabric-like belt she wore fluttering in the air as she did so.
"Thanks, Freya! You ready?" The girl asked, "Freya" giving her a brief nod of agreement. The great dragon rose to her full height of a bit more than seven feet, still appearing to be full of energy even after the short show she put on.
"All right, we haven't done this in a while, but LET'S KICK SOME ASS!" Reyna cheered along with the crowd, pumping her fists in the air. Seeing as they had yet to even SEE their opponent, Freya merely sighed, but mentally prepared herself to fight.

It would take a longer time for the challenger on the east side to enter the arena. A good twenty or thirty seconds at least after Reyna's entrance on Freya. By this time the crowd had calmed down a bit, settling into a slight lull. There was a strange tense feeling that pervaded the air. This was soon broken, however.
A jet of flames, dancing scarlet and persimmon, burst out from the darkness of the east gate. It was followed by a savage roar. Several people from the crowd looked confused. A startled gasp came up those nearby the sides. A beast was emerging from the entrance, looking none too pleased.
An orange dragon -- no, not another Dragonite -- emerged. It stared out across the battlefield, a truculent heavyweight with keen, searching eyes. When it had its opponent in sight, it snapped and nearly lunged forward. The only thing keeping it back was the young lady holding a vice-like grip on the harness looped around its neck.
This was Charizard. And he was imbued with wrath.
The one holding the tether was his trainer, Sasha, and the other challenger. She was a simple girl, with blond hair and hazel coloured eyes, of average height. Her black sweater was off and tied around her waist, her black cap sat backwards on her head. And on her shoulder balanced a Meowth, who was watching Charizard with mild interest.
"Ooh, look at all the people!" Sasha said. She waved at the crowd in a wide arc with her arm. Charizard felt the tether slacken, and pulled forward. The girl had to grab for it again, and yank back.
"Be patient!" she snapped at him. His sharp gaze turned back to her, and raked over her like a blade. But Sasha kept a stern face. She knew how to deal with her bully of a Pokemon.
"You'll get to fight soon enough," she murmured to him, giving a maniacal grin. In return, Charizard let out a puff of white smoke, and opened his jaws to reveal the jagged incisors hidden within.
"Nyaaaa?" asked the Meowth lazily from Sasha's shoulder.
"Oh yes, I'm sure you'll get to fight as well!" replied the trainer in a mock professional tone. It was as if Sasha could actually understand the creature. Nya purred jovially in return.

The green-haired child could only stare for a brief moment, slack jawed, at her opponent. "C-C-.... COOL!" Reyna stammered, continuing.
"A giant fire breathing dragon! With the first opponent too! THIS KICKS ASS!" She whooped, looking up to her own titanic Pokemon.
Well, to put it simply, a rival appeared. Narrowing her eyes, Freya gazed down upon the orange dragon, obvious to the fact that it was clearly ready to spring at her as soon as the girl let go.
Shifting her weight to the side slightly to maintain a more comfortable position, the Dragonite spread her wings to make herself seem larger and returned the Charizard's savage roar with one of her own.
After deciding she looked significantly threatening enough for a moment, she folded her wings closer to her back, ready to take to the skies once again if necessary.
"So..." The girl paused, before waving quickly to her opponent from behind her dragon. "Why hi thar! Let's make this totally epic and awesome and stuff, okay?" She called over the crowd, perhaps a bit too pumped up with anticipation to care of the girl was actually planning.
... But one had to admit, it was hard not to get pumped up with all the cheering.
